MINORS: Scouting for potential breakout performers

With almost a decade of prospect coverage under my belt, I’ve been right (and wrong) about several prospects. I’m seldom reminded about the guys I hit on, usually because it is my job to be mostly right on my calls. I’m reminded a good bit about my misses. People usually will stop dead in their tracks or send apology emails/private messages when they realize what they’ve done is rude. I don’t take offense, unless someone is being a jerk about it. Luckily, the jerks are few and far between. What people don’t know is how most scouts are always re-examining their misses, trying to understand why they were so wrong about a guy.
