MINORS: This, Not That—Wander Franco versus the field

Since the end of spring training, I’ve watched several hours of video on prospects from spring training, mostly guys who only received a few televised ABs and didn’t make their 2021 debuts in the big leagues. As I said last week, our prospect world will be turned on its head once we’re actually playing real games, 6 days a week. What we know now feels infinitely less than what we’ll know by the end of May. We haven’t had real games since September of 2019 to evaluate most prospects. We’ve been talking about practice, ATS workouts, instructs and spring training. In less than three weeks, we’ll finally have games.
