MINORS: Fantasy Impact: 2012 Eastern League All Star Game

The task of wading through minor-league ball in search of the future stars is filled with mines. These become more plentiful the further down the developmental ladder one treks. Because our purpose, after all, is not only looking for the next major leaguer players, but the next impact major-leaguers, ones that will help us win our fantasy leagues in two, five, or 10 years down the road.

So while attending a Double-A All Star Game, like the one in Reading, PA on July 11, 2012, should in theory provide ample opportunity to see the brightest and best young stars in the league, the reality—at least for the 2012 version—is that older players likely never to see an MLB paycheck also occupy plenty of roster spots.
