One of my favorite parks in the minor leagues is in downtown Akron, Ohio. Canal Park is an underrated park with great sight lines and a nice view of a modest downtown. I generally attend a few games per season in Akron, but I was very intrigued when the Indians promoted Bradley Zimmer from High-A in July. The Rubber Ducks generally field some nice prospects and Zimmer is as good as any, including Francisco Lindor.
Here are some observational notes on a few prospects:
Sam Travis (1B, BOS) – The 21-year-old is progressing rapidly after he began the 2015 season in High-A before his promotion to Double-A in June. He was a second round pick in the 2014 draft out of Indiana and he looks the part of both a natural hitter and grinder. He...
