MINORS: The Eyes Have It—Jazz Chisholm and Pavin Smith

The Diamondbacks farm system is on the rise. Having covered the organization in previous years for the Minor League Baseball Analyst, I’m envious of our D-backs writer/evaluator Alec Dopp because the organization is so much better than it was when I wrote about it in 2016 & 2017. One of the risers on our midseason HQ50 is the organization’s top stud, OF Kristian Robinson. Sadly, I won’t run into him during coverage during the regular season.

I got a two-game look at their Double-A affiliate Jackson. Last week, I profiled Dbacks catching prospect Daulton Varsho. Besides Varsho, there are two more top prospects on the squad, including Jazz Chisholm, who has struggled with his hit tool this season, and Pavin Smith, who hasn’t lived up to...
