MINORS: The Eyes have it—Eloy Jimenez & Monte Harrison

This spring has been uniquely different from any other spring. I’ve been seesawing back and forth between amateur scouting and pro scouting, almost on a daily basis. It’s been an education in patience, player evaluation, and the process of evaluation. With the amateurs, it’s about potential, relationships, and signability. Once they hit the pros, it’s about how they’ve progressed, can they develop their toolshed, and where they’ll fit in the big leagues. Admittedly, sometimes it's hard to change gears between the different scouting perspectives. However, I cherish the new perspective I’ve gained with the amateurs, and have put it to good use in my pro evaluations.
