MINORS: 2016 College World Series preview

The College World Series begins on Saturday, June 18, and ends with a best-of-three series spanning June 27-29. As always, it features a number of players whom you’ll see at the MLB level one day. 

Here are players that fantasy owners may want to watch carefully, ordered in what I perceive as their value as best long-term fantasy prospects. 

1. Luken Baker, 1B/RHP, TCU (draft eligible for 2018)
Baseball America ranked Baker as the 58th-best prospect for last year’s draft, but the Gatorade’s National Player of the Year instead opted to attend college, where he amassed a .379/.488/.560 batting line as a freshman that included nine HR and an outstanding batting eye (1.22), combined with great contact ability (84% ct%).
