MINORS: 2016 College names to know

This year seems to bring us a deeper crop of college players as compared to last year’s class, though like last season, there’s no superstar talent on the level of Kris Bryant (3B, CHC) or David Price (LHP, BOS). Also, there’s not even a lot of the Michael Conforto (OF, NYM) types—players with star upside, but whose base skills suggest a high floor. 

That said, there is also a wisdom that comes from watching college baseball for years, and realizing that base skills from 20-year-old collegians are very volatile—and different from those already in the professional ranks.
