This week we continue our annual review of the top prospects in baseball by position. Between now and Opening Day, we'll examine one position a week by looking at both those rookies ready to contribute in the big leagues now, as well as run-down of the top 15 long-term prospects at each position.
We now turn our attention to third base. Unlike other positions, particularly first base, there is considerable depth in the minors. Some teams have multiple solid prospects at this position. A few rookies could secure starting jobs in spring training while others could win a bench spot to start the season. There are also others who should receive considerable action by midseason.
