MINORS: 2014 top 1B prospects

This week we continue our annual review of the top prospects in baseball by position. Between now and opening day, we'll examine one position a week by looking at both those rookies ready to contribute in the big leagues now, as well as run-down of the top 15 long-term prospects at each position.

This week we focus on the first basemen. Despite the overall offensive significance attached to the position, there continues to be a dearth of quality prospects. Not only is there a lack of depth, there isn't much upside potential. Outside of 27-year-old José Abreu (CHW), there aren't any prospects here who will get significant playing time at the beginning of the season.
