The Angels purchased the contract of the 27-year-old after placing Taylor Featherson on the disabled list. Jackson will likely serve in a utility capacity, playing a variety of infield positions in a pinch if needed. He last appeared in the majors in 2013 with the Cardinals and has 24 big league at bats in his career. He has mostly been a shortstop, but has seen plenty of action at 2B, 3B, as well as the outfield. Jackson is a stellar defender, with excellent tools and strong instincts to match.
