One of the most important concerns for any fantasy owner is injury. An injury, especially one to a key player, can crash a contender even after a splendid draft.

It’s hard to predict whether a particular player will be injured in any year; they constantly surprise. Of course there are known injury risks like Erik Bedard and Rich Harden (both Canadians .... hmmm ... ), and known iron men like Ichiro and Prince Fielder.

But then we get “injury-prone” guys who turn in 700-PA seasons, or iron men like Curtis Granderson, with 136, 156 and 160 GP the last three years, who flukes into a broken forearm in a spring training game and misses a third of the season (and that could have been even more, had the incident occurred on March...
