Since the statistics are based on the previous year’s performance, Strat-O-Matic eliminates the injury risk which causes us to devalue pitching in Rotisserie. By accurately reflecting the probabilities of performance, effective pitching keys winning teams in simulation formats.
We looked at Strat-O-Matic hitters yesterday; today we turn our focus onto pitchers.
We rate pitchers primarily on the number of outs they get via on-base chances. We must also weigh hit chances, as a hit advances other runners, whereas a walk often does not. Giving up home runs harm a pitcher’s card because homers are guaranteed runs compared to having to grouping baserunners together to score. Doubles and triples are tiebreakers, but not weighted as heavily....
