ALTERNATIVE: 2021 Fringe keepers for continuing Scoresheet leagues

Retention lists are due for the Scoresheet public leagues February 18 for American Leagues, and February 21 for National Leagues. To help prepare for this, we used Runs Above Replacement (RAR) from the BHQ projections to identify some fringe players for 10-team leagues. Projections are useful as a starting spot without bias, which is how they are being used in this piece, but blindly using projections is not a recommended approach for draft preparation.

We looked at pitchers in the 48-55 ranking range and hitters in the 77-86 ranking range for each league. Free agents, players that crossed over to the new league, and players who still qualify to be kept as a “rookie” per Scoresheet standard rules were removed from the ranking, so we...
