Sometimes, pitchers find themselves out of whack. There's a multitude of explanations possible. However, in my time as an evaluator, three things most damage the trajectory of a young career. Physical injury is the most obvious answer, as one minor or major issue can derail even the most promising career. Then, there is coaching. Whether it is a lack of coaching or over-coaching, some prospects get messed up by the way they're managed. Finally, some struggles are psychological, as the mind can play tricks on even the most mentally strong.
