The traditional kickoff to the pre-season slate of industry is the draft held each January at the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) semi-annual conference. That event is next week in Los Angeles, where Brent will be representing BaseballHQ.com.
The FSTA league is a 14-team mixed 5x5 straight draft format. For a new wrinkle this year, the draft organizers decided to start with eight rounds of a slow draft before the conference. This phase of the draft has been completed, which allows us the rather unusual opportunity to take an in-depth look at a draft that is only about 30% complete.
Being our first draft of the year, and falling so early in the preseason calendar, it makes for a nice laboratory to shake out some of our draft...
