DR. HQ: Preseason Report: AL Outfielders

Josh Hamilton (OF, TEX)
The Injury: Hamilton underwent surgery in November to repair a sports hernia. By January, he was working out without any visible restrictions.
The Outlook: The biggest issue with Hamilton is his relapse of alcoholism over the winter. While not a sports injury, it is a medical situation that greatly impacts his life and ability to remain on the field. If the Rangers and Hamilton are able to re-construct his support team this issue should not factor directly into his draft situation.
What to Watch this Spring: Any signs of back or shoulder issues or a relapse of alcoholism should raise a huge red flag. If the current bruised heel does not develop into something more serious he should enter the season healthy.
