DR HQ: Pitching injuries keep piling up

Jarrod Parker (RHP, OAK)
Injury: Forearm tightness
Spring Training Outlook: One veteran A’s source suggests that Parker’s forearm issue appears to be with the flexor muscle/tendon and not the ulnar collateral ligament. He will see Dr. James Andrews early in the week for a second opinion.
2014 Impact: It’s a given he’ll start the year on the DL. How much time he misses depends on the severity of the injury. One fact not working in his favor is the forearm problems he had last year. Rest and rehab over the winter supposedly corrected the problem. If this is a relapse then surgery or a long DL stint is likely.
