Gout is an unusual, but potentially very painful condition that affects the big toe far more often than the ankle. Fortunately, it is easily treatable and acute flare-ups usually subside in a few days. Gout is a chronic condition, but usually easy to manage.

Jones was hit in the face by a pitch Saturday. Early indications are that there are no broken bones, nor did he suffer from a concussion.
