Cody Bellinger (1B/OF, LA) was one of the most divisive players during the 2022 draft season, often grouped with Christian Yelich (OF, MIL) as a prime bounceback candidate. Despite having another full offseason to recover from shoulder surgery and tinker with his swing mechanics, Bellinger hasn’t been able to recapture his form from 2019 and 2020. While his 2022 season has undoubtedly been better than 2021, his results (.648 OPS, 13 HR, 38 RBI, 49 R, .205 BA) remain disappointing. He still has plenty of pop (123 xPX) in his bat, but his 68 ct% stands in the way of him fully unlocking his skills profile.
Sensibly, he’s always been known more for his offense to fantasy managers, but it could be Bellinger’s defense...
