The Mets will have some tough decisions to make this winter. Chief among them will be whether or not to try to re-sign Yoenis Céspedes (OF, NYM) and Daniel Murphy (2B/3B, NYM).
Cespedes will no doubt command a monster salary, so it’s possible that the Mets could be priced out of his market. If they’re unable to retain him, Michael Conforto (OF, NYM) would be the prime in-house candidate to replace him. Conforto, who entered the season ranked by BaseballHQ.com as the team’s sixth best prospect, has done a terrific job in his first taste of the majors.
