Well, not exactly “clamoring,” but there is definitely a contingent of the fan base that wants to see how the 26-year-old can help their home team’s unproductive lineup. But management has thus far refused to grant their followers’ wishes, citing that McNeil is primarily a second baseman and the team already has Asdrúbal Cabrera (2B, NYM) capably filling that position.
