PT TOMORROW: NL East—He-Man Gimenez?

New York Mets

With the Mets off to a shaky 4-7 start, and in the wake of Yoenis Céspedes (OF, NYM) opting out of the season, first-year manager Luis Rojas has shuffled the lineup a bit over the past couple games. One of the beneficiaries has been rookie Andrés Giménez (SS, NYM). What are his chances of picking up additional playing time and how might he fare?

First, from a PT perspective, Giménez is well-positioned, both figuratively and literally: the defensive standout entered the season as a shortstop, but has since played 4 G at 2B and 4 G at 3B, earning eligibility at those positions on a number of sites. This versatility can only help the 21-year-old find opportunities to get in the lineup.

It’s still very, very early, but so far...

Almost!
