A year ago, expectations were high for the ATL middle infield of the future—Dansby Swanson (SS, ATL) was in the preseason NL Rookie of the Year talk, and Ozzie Albies (2B, ATL) was thought to be just a couple months behind in development and was expected to give the the Braves a boost in mid-season. Obviously, things only went partially to plan.

Swanson got off to a terrible start, battling the Mendoza line through May, and having uncharacteristic (at least to this point in his development) contact problems. Never viewed to be a big power hitter, he was projected to be a safe source of BA, doubles power, and some speed. But none of it materialized and he spent a couple weeks back in the minors in late July. He showed some...
