Much of the early-season focus in Chicago has been on the team’s hitting, and until recently, a distinct lack of offensive production. However, the Cubs have also had an uneven performance from their rotation, which has earned a 5.23 ERA collectively through 19 games. Even worse is that the team doesn’t have much projected upside to improve, as Zach Davies (RHP, CHC) and Trevor Williams (RHP, CHC) are decidedly mediocre starters, and Jake Arrieta (RHP, CHC) has been on the back end of his career since leaving Chicago after the 2017 season.
