Homer Bailey (RHP, CIN) continues to progress towards a return from Tommy John surgery. He struck out six of the 16 batters he faced in a rehab start for Triple-A Louisville April 21. Then with five errors behind him, he gave up five runs (one earned), along with three strikeouts in an April 26 start for Double-A Pensacola, in which he went 78 pitches.
The expectation is that Bailey will make just one more start (with Louisville) in the minors before rejoining the rotation in Cincinnati. If all goes as planned, he's on track to make his season debut at some point during a home series with Milwaukee (May 5-8).
