The club's expansion call-ups point to a playing time issue that could linger well beyond September, that being 1B going forward. MLB icon Albert Pujols (1B/DH, LAA) has enjoyed a mild uptick to date in performance (.252 BA, 21 HR, 84 RBI through 408 AB) and health-wise while avoiding the IL. At least some of this can be attributed to more frequent rest throughout the season, as suggested by 60+ fewer AB now than at this point in 2018—which in itself hints that the 39-year-old Pujols's timeouts will become at least a little more frequent in 2020. Pujols's mediocre peripherals have held the line, but at his age and with just two contract years remaining at no better than replacement level, it's questionable whether...
