The A's are the division's most-obvious seller and likely one of MLB's most sought-after dance partners by contenders. As the club continues to shed anything that actually costs money and prepares for a long, inexpensive rebuild, the two big names are Frankie Montas (RHP, OAK) and Ramón Laureano (OF, OAK), the latter of whom we briefly touched on here last week.
Montas hasn't skipped a beat following his career 2021 performance, a 3.37/3.73 ERA/xERA over 187 IP. A combination 6% BB% and 48% GB% are now fueling his 3.53 ERA (3.39 xERA) through 82 IP, and Montas will be under club control through 2023, making him hardly a rental.
