A work-in-progress rotation has passed a not-insignificant early test, tossing 29 1/3 IP of 2.76 ERA ball on the road vs the A's and Angels over their first six games, backed by a potent offense that has helped the club jump to a 5-1 record. Luis García (RHP) was the shakiest link, going just 3 1/3 IP and giving up two runs (three walks) vs. LAA. But Garcia is also a projected rotation short-timer for now, as an off-day and the debut of recently-signed Jake Odorizzi (RHP, HOU) on April 13 pushes him back to the bullpen. Garcia's location keeps an open question on whether he'll eventually be a mid-to-back-of-the-rotation starter or a late-inning bullpen option.
