With Delino DeShields (OF, TEX) expected to be shelved for three weeks following a weekend hamstring injury, the Rangers appear to be accelerating the Joey Gallo (3B, TEX) outfield experiment even before regular 3B Adrián Béltre returns from his DL (thumb) at the end of June. Gallo's 16 Ks through his first 40 AB suggests that he has work to do at the plate. But his 13% bb%, 4 HR and .300 BA (.262 xBA) have been more than acceptable, and hint that he has at least an outside shot chance at sticking upon Beltre's return.
