This rotation has faded badly following a fast start, and as projected early is now among MLB's worst ERA-wise, just slightly better than the Angels within the division. It's been bouyed by the surprisingly solid effort to date of Kyle Gibson (RHP, TEX), who has posted a 2.32 ERA and 1.01 WHIP through 54 IP and nine starts. Coming off two poor seasons, Gibson is now throwing his sinker more often and generating weak contact. The results are evident in a 54% GB%, 24% H% and 0.5 hr/9, all of which would be career-bests if maintained. Obviously this isn't likely to happen, and a mediocre 21% K% further suggests that some sort of regression is on tap. But Gibson's is seemingly the only safe TEX rotation spot going forward,...
