Hitter to watch: The postseason-aspiring Angels ended the 1H reeling from a slew of injuries, making several new player acquisitions, losing 9 of their last 10 games before the break, and are suddenly five out of wild card contention. Now without Mike Trout (hamate bone surgery), Shohei Ohtani is the lineup's most pivotal remaining name, obviously not because of any playing time swings associated while he's still in Anaheim.

Legitimate questions abound as to whether owner Arte Moreno will change his stance about trading his two-way star this season. We also have to wonder whether opposing pitchers will pitch to Ohtani with Trout now out indefinitely. The club's 2023 postseason chances seem likely to be near zero by...
