Minus Mike Trout (strained calf)—now expected to be out until sometime around the All-Star break—the Angels were seven games below .500 entering their Tuesday, May 24 contest vs. TEX. And they are reeling notably in the OF, where regular LF Justin Upton and subs Taylor Ward (OF, LAA), Jose Rojas (3B/OF, LAA), and Juan Lagares (OF, LAA) have been logging all the AB since Trout's injury. Both Ward and Rojas flash occasional pop, but both own subpar ct%. Notably Ward's 20% h% looks like he'd due for some better luck. But the bottom line is that entering Tuesday, the homerless .244 BA owned by historically weak-hitting glove-man Lagares (career .254 BA, 25 HR over 2000 MLB AB) was the only .200+ BA among all of LAA OFs....
