One currently cloudy situation that needs to shake out this spring is how 1B/LF/DH at bats how will be spread out.
In essence, the Rays have one “extra” player floating around who may need to be traded or released before games begin for real. This makes the situation a bit of a minefield, especially for early drafters.
The linchpin in this quandary is perhaps Desmond Jennings (OF, TAM), who is off to a good start in proving that he is healthy and ready to assume the bulk of the work in left field. Indeed, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times has written that Jennings in left field and newcomer Corey Dickerson (OF, TAM) as the primary DH was the plan coming into camp.
