The Orioles will have a new pitcher taking the ball for them in the ninth inning, after trading Jim Johnson (RHP, OAK) and his 101 saves over the last two seasons to the Oakland A’s. Exactly who that pitcher will be remains a bit of a mystery, after something found in the physical of Grant Balfour (RHP, FA) scuttled that signing.

The Orioles have been linked to free-agent reliever Fernando Rodney (RHP, FA), but absent bringing in Rodney or another closer by trade or free agency, is there anyone on the team’s current roster who could do the job?
