Rumors of the demise of David Price (LHP, BOS) have proven to be at least slightly exaggerated. Price will be re-evaluated in seven to 10 days, but no surgery or “injection of any kind” is on tap, according to manager John Farrell.
The smart money would seem to be that Price will miss at least the start of the season which could mean that all of the contestants for what was thought to be the final two spots in the Boston rotation—Steven Wright (RHP, BOS), Eduardo Rodriguez (LHP, BOS) and Drew Pomeranz (LHP, BOS)—may all have regular turns available to them, at least initially.
Those drafting soon obviously have a difficult call to make as to how long to stay in the bidding on Price. In the 12-team, AL-only LABR experts...
