Because Anthony Santander (OF, BAL) was battling what he recently disclosed was a mild bout of the coronavirus, Baltimore had spent the early part of its camp with only two true outfielders, Austin Hays (OF, BAL) and DJ Stewart (OF, BAL), in their player pool.

The Orioles have since reinforced their pool with Ryan Mountcastle (OF, BAL), Mason Williams (OF, BAL) and Cedric Mullins (OF, BAL), but they are reportedly set to begin the season at the reserve camp in Bowie, rather than on the major league roster.

Meanwhile, the team has not said much about the situation of Dwight Smith (OF, BAL), who has yet to arrive in camp.
