Chief among the Yankees’ September call-ups will reportedly be Clint Frazier (OF, NYY), who has been toiling at AAA-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since a mid-June demotion seemingly prompted by some notable defensive blunders.
The Yankees are reportedly pleased with Frazier’s progress in tightening up his defense, and his arrival prior to the returns of Giancarlo Stanton (OF, NYY) and Aaron Hicks (OF, NYY) could help him carve out a window of playing time.
Frazier’s work at the plate at Triple-A has not been as strong as it has been in seasons past, though he has been warming up a bit as of late, going 19-for-66 (.288) with 1 HR and 6 2B in his last 16 games.
