Half of the Royals outfield (performance) and much of the pitching staff (injury) are falling apart at the wrong time, but reinforcements could be the bulk of the team's September callups.

Paulo Orlando (OF, KC; pictured above) lost over two months to a fractured left tibia at Triple-A Omaha, but the rest may have given him a chance to refocus. The Royals Opening Day RF (.302 BA, 14 SB, 5 HR in 2016) was sent to Omaha April 21 after going 7-for-47 with 1 BB and 15 K. He was a little better, but not promotion-worthy, with 16 H in 63 AB before the injury. Orlando returned to game action after the All Star break at Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
