No one had been hotter at the plate this past week than Nelson Cruz (DH, MIN) who ruptured the ECU tendon in his wrist on a swing and will be out indefinitely until further assessments can be made. This leaves the designated hitter slot wide open and it is likely that Miguel Sanó (3B/DH, MIN) will fill in while Cruz is on the mend.
