Masataka Yoshida’s playing time was the subject of much consternation for fantasy managers last week, as Boston’s designated hitter was absent from the team’s starting lineup for five consecutive games from April 21 through April 26.

Throughout this stretch, Boston manager Alex Cora was adamant while talking to reporters that these absences were due to specific circumstances and not a shift in his role, also reiterating that Yoshida would be back in the lineup regularly in short order.
