AL Central: Pérez to return soon

Wenceel Pérez (OF, DET) suffered an oblique strain on August 9, and soon after, Manager A.J. Hinch expressed fear that he would miss the remainder of the season. But Pérez has been making progress and kicked off a rehab assignment on Monday. He went hitless in his first game back but look for him to be back in the majors soon.

Pérez displayed a respectable power/speed combo before going down with his injury, recording 9 HR and 9 SB in 378 PA. His batting line was .242/.298/.386 with a 7% bb% and 78% K%. 

Though he was playing regularly before going down, things are a little more crowded now with Kerry Carpenter (OF, DET) and Riley Greene (OF, DET) back in the mix. Pérez started 62 games at second base in the minors last...
