Santana gives Twins some lineup options

NEWS: Minnesota finalized a one-year, $5.25 million contract with 1B Carlos Santana.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Santana gives the Twins a much-needed bat in the lineup. Santana’s 23 HR in 2023 would have been second on the Twins last year. He split time with PIT and MIL in 2023, putting up a .240/.318/.429 line in 550 AB. The addition of Santana (+20% PT) also solidified 1B as Minnesota was looking at a platoon involving Alex Kirilloff.  As a switch-hitter, Santana will give Mgr Rocco Baldelli some flexibility with his lineup and allow Kirilloff to get most of his AB at DH. The big question is whether Byron Buxton will play CF as the team hopes. We’re currently projecting a split for him between OF and DH...
