Worley shut down, Cloyd makes major league debut
The Phillies placed Vance Worley (RHP, PHI) on the DL with a right elbow problem and announced that he has been officially shut down for the season. He will have surgery in the next 7-10 days to remove loose bodies from the elbow. The Phillies summoned Tyler Cloyd (RHP, PHI) from AAA-Lehigh Valley to make his major league debut against the Mets on Wednesday. Cloyd is the Phillies 8th ranked prospect and has had an excellent season between AAA Lehigh-Valley and AA-Reading.
