PLAYING TIME: Pettitte set for return to rotation

Pettitte rejoins Yankee rotation

Andy Pettitte (LHP, NYY), who has been out of action since June 27 due to a fractured fibula, was supposed to return to the rotation September 18, but the game was rained out.  He will simply be pushed back one day, and will still square off against the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.  Pettitte is expected to be limited to 70 pitches, so he will need to be efficient in order to last long enough to qualify for a win.  He shouldn't be expected to duplicate the skills he displayed prior to his injury, as both his Dom and ground ball rates were career highs.  That being said, his return is probably a welcome addition to any rotation for the season's final weeks.
