Giants | Yusmeiro Petit flirts with perfect game Friday
San Francisco Giants SP Yusmeiro Petit (3-0) came within one strike of throwing a perfect game against the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday, Sept. 6. He allowed a two-out ninth-inning single to Eric Chavez on a 3-2 count before retiring A.J. Pollock on a grounder to third base to end the game. It was Petit's first career complete game and he struck out seven batters while only throwing 95 pitches.  Source: The Associated Press
