McCarthy sent for MRI

Brandon McCarthy (RHP, OAK), who was scheduled to start at Coors Field June 13, has been scratched from that start and sent back to Oakland for an MRI. He has made just two starts since returning from a stint on the disabled list, but the shoulder soreness that landed him there has apparently returned.    McCarthy has built on last season's success in the early going, though his skills don't quite support his 2.79 ERA.  He has experienced some regression in his Ctl, Dom, and ground ball rate, and his 4.09 xERA is a better indicator of how he has pitched.  When he does return to the mound, that ERA will likely go up, but assuming he will be healthy, McCarthy can still be quite useful in most...
