Inge surgery keeps torrid Donaldson at 3B
After re-aggravating his throwing shoulder injury on his first day off the DL Saturday, Brandon Inge (3B, OAK) is scheduled for season-ending surgery next week. With a normal recovery period of six months, Inge should be ready for spring training in 2013, but this does little for fantasy owners seeking current production from the BA-and-contact challenged slugger.
Inge's 3B spot had been filled surprisingly well by Jason Donaldson (3B, OAK) for most of August, and he's likely to continue to get most of the A's playing time at third if he can manage his own mild hip flexor injury. After hitting .152 in 98 1H AB, Donaldson's numbers in 67 AB since August 10 have improved...
