Dodgers get Hanley Ramírez
The Los Angeles Dodgers landed one of the big prizes in the trade market, as they sent pitchers Nathan Eovaldi (RHP, MIA) and Scott McGough (RHP, MIA) to the Marlins for Hanley Ramírez (SS/3B, LA). In the short term, Ramirez will probably play SS for the Dodgers, as regular Dee Gordon (SS, LA) is out with a thumb injury and is not expected back until mid to late August. In the long term, Ramirez could play 3B, where the Dodgers also have a need.
Last year was a lost season for Ramirez with back and shoulder problems that eventually led to surgery. This year he's shown only a partial rebound. He has 14 HR thus far, after only 10 in 2011, and he's swiped 14 bases, so a 20-20 season...
