Ramirez will get a start in Seattle
The Seattle Mariners are expected to recall Erasmo Ramírez (RHP, SEA) from AAA-Tacoma for a start on Thursday against the Padres, allowing Kevin Millwood (RHP, SEA) to be pushed back to Saturday because of a mild groin strain. The 22-year-old Ramirez was sent down on May 7 to be stretched out as a starter, and he has responded well. In seven starts, he has a 3.11 ERA, 6.9 Dom, 1.7 Ctl, and 4.1 Cmd. He was named PCL Pitcher of the Week for the week of June 4, after fanning nine in six innings against Sacramento.
